Seventy-six years after the von Schubert family was forced out of Vihula Manor in northern Estonia, Dr. Bernhard von Schubert, grandson of the last von Schubert owner of the estate and president of the von Schubert Family Association, recently paid a historical visit to Vihula Manor together with his spouse, children and grandchildren. The family enjoyed some exciting days in Estonia and at Vihula Manor and was full of praise for the careful restoration of their ancestral home. This year marks the 205th anniversary of the acquisition of Vihula Manor by Alexander von Schubert in 1810. The event is being celebrated by the unveiling of a bust sculpture of Alexander von Schubert in the Manor Park in mid-June and by a permanent exhibition about the von Schubert Family at the estate in the Water Mill later in the year.
