Read more: The main purpose of the bear and wildlife observation hides, i.e. the new hides, is bear watching and also seeing other wildlife. In the two hides there are a total of four separate cabins, each with two bunk beds. Observation windows are on two sides of the hide. The front of the hide opens onto a shaded forest where forest species are mainly expected – bears, raccoon dogs, woodpeckers and others. From the back you can see the brook flood plain, which is favoured by open-landscape creatures. Sometimes elk and deer come to lick salt, the Ural owl hunts for mice or a golden eagle circles in the sky. A beaver grazes on the brook bank or wild boars come to drink water.
Photography enthusiasts can also take photos through glass in the new hides, and on request we can open a special camera hatch equipped with a camera bag from which you can photograph using your own tripod. Our tripod is also available on request. A dim light has been installed at the hide which does not disturb the animals, so observation is possible throughout the night.
A new addition is the sensitive microphone beside the hide, which brings forest sounds into the hide. On some quiet nights the world of sounds can offer even more powerful nature experiences than seeing animals – from the hide, wolf pack howling, elk mating calls and pygmy owl whistling have been heard.
